Ready to celebrate the coming of Spring? Shake off winter! Bring your family, friends and out-of-town visitors and head to Tlaquepaque for SpringFest. On Saturday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Arts and Crafts Village will be the place to be to start the Easter weekend. Fabulous cuisine from around the world, three live music acts and non-stop fun for youngsters at the Hip Hop Bunny Burrow makes this a perfect family-fun outing!
Savor delicious International flavors from five global destinations: Rome, Athens, the Holy land, Mexico, and Paris. Food stations will be set up in Tlaquepaque's Upper Terrace above Patio del Norte, El Prado's Sculpture Garden and in Las Campanas next to El Rincon. With the exception of the Mexico offering from El Rincon Restaurante Mexicano, Executive Chef Dan Martin of Perfection, Sedona's newest special events and catering business, specially prepares all cuisine selections. Most recently Chef Dan was the executive chef at Seven Canyons, a private residence club in Sedona.
Bring the kids to Auntie Mars' Hip-Hop Bunny Burrow next to El Rincon, adjacent to La Fuente Patio, hear fun stories by a Big Bunny on stilts, and learn some cool hip-hop moves from dance sensation Eric Aglia, who performs all over the Southwest and West coast. Eric will also perform his own gravity-defying dance moves, from noon to 2 p.m. The Bunny Burrow rocks...er, hops with activity including sidewalk chalk art, "Find the Hidden Object," game, and more. The ZAZU Trio, a regular crowd pleaser at Tlaquepaque, presents popular songs with the dark chromatic gypsy flavor and the swing articulation of the period, "the music of Paris in the '30s," featuring Ken Aurich and Larry Czarnecki from Flagstaff on guitar, and Steve Douglas of Sedona on upright bass. Jazz a la' Mode, features musical sensations Frankie and Rosemary Chavez, gifted performers and also favorites among the Arizona and Sedona music scene. Having moved from Los Angeles, they bring with them years of professional experience in the club, concert, studio and performance arena. Rosemary's exquisite voice keeps audiences captivated and Frankie just lays it down with his exceptional drumming and percussionist skills. Patio Las Campanas.
And last but not least, with flutes and pennywhistles, guitars, mandolin, violin and world percussion, Meadowlark moves beyond traditional jazz, melding music from influences as diverse as Celtic, African, and Mediterranean traditions. Riding between worlds, these seasoned story-weavers, guitarist Rick Cyge and flutist Lynn Trombetta, draw listeners in to experience the places and times that served as inspiration for their unique compositions.
