Brandi's Kitchen hosts Homes for Our Troops fund-raiser

Brandi's Kitchen is hosting a benefit fund-raiser in an effort to raise funds for the Homes for Our Troops non-profit organization. The fundraiser is a spaghetti dinner on Aug. 1, 4-8 p.m. at Brandi's restaurant located at 660 East Mingus Ave, Cottonwood. The meal will consist of a spaghetti dinner with or without meat, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drink; adults $10 per person and children under 8 is $7. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Homes for Our Troops recently joined with the Cottonwood community in breaking ground for constructing of a new home for U.S. Marine Sgt. Jordan Maynard, his wife, Jennifer and their son, Jay. A national non-profit organization, Homes for Our Troops, is dedicated to building specially adapted, no-cost homes for severely injured veterans. Only through generous donations and fundraisers, can the organization continue to build these much needed homes. Maynard is an Afghanistan veteran who was wounded on March 23, 2011.

According to Pam Van Winkle, President of the VFW 7400 Ladies Auxiliary and fundraiser "go to person" she praised Brandi on her generous donation for providing the major meal expense items (location, manpower and food). Other contributors are: Food City, VFW7400 Ladies Auxiliary, Verde Valley Moose Lodge 1449, American Legion Post 135 and Larry Wascek. For more information concerning the fundraiser, call Pam Van Winkle at 928-300-6968.
