AZADI Fine Rugs kicks of their newest show “Freedom” with a special performance by acclaimed magician Ben Silver during the Sedona Gallery Association 1st Friday Gallery Tour.
Sedona's finest art galleries invite you to enjoy an evening of openings, special guests, artist receptions and celebrations at their 1st Friday Gallery Tour July 5, 5-8 p.m.
All guests are welcome to attend free of charge and enjoy the Sedona Trolley, which does continuous loops to all locations. Some of July's highlights include:
ALT Gallery showcases new arrivals at including a large Bill Dixon petroglyph scene, an abstract oil by Rose Kuper, and an interesting collection of early 1970's independent movie posters. Stop by and check out Northern Arizona's best selection of secondary market fine art.
Andrea Smith Gallery features Elizabeth Silk: A touch of emotion and the spirit of love flow through all of her art, communicating unspoken, soul-felt words. Love, compassion, pride, despair, anger, fear, introspection, understanding, intimacy, passion and freedom - all are explored. Meet Elizabeth Silk as she exhibits her art during First Friday.

In July AZADI is celebrating their roots with this exhibition: Azadi is a Persian word for freedom and liberty. Silver will perform from 6-7 p.m.
Gallery of Modern Masters is featuring artist Peter Gassner whose photography is focused on capturing the strong, contrasting relationships between shapes and colors. He uniquely capture's the Southwest's unending source of images which he prints on various mediums. There will be an artist presentation at 6:30. Artisan Pizza is hosting.
James Ratliff Gallery features Spirit Talker Masks by Tyanne.Collecting natural substances such as rocks, shells, seaweed, stumps, moss, weird bugs, feathers and fur have always intrigued the highly creative artist and now provides her the basis for creating what she calls Spirit Talker Masks. Meet Tyanne during the opening reception.
JN Muir Sculpture Studio/Gallery theme this month is "Let Freedom Ring." At this haven for sculpture collectors visitors can meet sculptor, James Muir and celebrate man's courageous quest for truth and freedom depicted through patriotic sculptures that honor those who have served and sacrificed for this country.
Lanning Gallery and Turquoise Tortoise Gallery each feature "Cool Colors" this month in exhibitions that offer visual respite to warm weather visitors.
Green grass and blue skies, fields and rivers captured on canvas, stone sculptures cool to the touch, hand-blown glass whose fiery origins give way to icy tones of deep water hues, and always the myriad tones of turquoise; all this soothes the eyes during hot summer days.
Artists such as Cynthia Reid, Gerald Moore and Paul Braun are highlighted at Lanning Gallery while Turquoise Tortoise Gallery spotlights father and son Larry and Lance Yazzie and their stone sculptures as well as the cool steel sculptures of Manny Valenzuela, bronzes from Al Glann and the gallery's tremendous turquoise jewelry collection. Both shows through July 14.
Lark Art features the narrative paintings of Jay Schmetz in the exhibit "While We're Not Watching... The Hidden Lives of Animals."
Jay divides his time between running a sanctuary for farm animals and creating his paintings. His unique perspective affords him heartfelt, humorous insights. Drop by to raise a toast to Jay's enchanting world!
Mountain Trails Galleries pays tribute to their sculpture artists in an exhibition of new work by Western figurative sculptors Susan Kliewer, Michael Trcic, Vic Payne, Dustin Payne, Oreland C. Joe, and wildlife sculptors Sandy Scott, Jim Gilmore, and Stefan Savides. Sculpture demonstrations by the gallery's artists will be a part of appreciating the extensive work that goes into a bronze or stone work of art.
