The Summer Reading Program at the Sedona Library is off to a great start. It began on June 1 and ends Saturday July 28. Children are collecting library rewards as they read, and are also earning opportunities to win cool puppets and special draw prizes.
Throughout the weeks of summer vacation families and visitors are coming to the Sedona Library to check out their reading material and get online. They are also stopping by to enjoy entertaining shows, story time and craft activities, special events and workshops. An upcoming library show, the Tex and Mary Ann Cowboy Show' is sure to be a hit with children and those interested in acting.
Local celebrities, Tom and Shondra Jepperson, created a Summer Reading Arizona Centennial themed show for children and have taken the show on the road, delighting patrons of other libraries in Yavapai County. The Tex and Mary Ann Cowboy Show is full of wild kooky characters, cowboy stories, sing-alongs and more, Tex and Mary Ann will get everyone involved in some cowboy foolery and fun! This free show starts at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, and will take place in the Si Birch Community Room, Be ready to add your voices and acting talents including playing percussion instruments in this 45 minute children's show that is sure to entertain. Preregistration is not required, just come at 1 and enjoy the show.
