One man's thinking at Canyon Moon Theatre
Getting dumped has never been funnier
Robert Dubac
Robert Dubac

Internationally acclaimed actor/writer Robert Dubac is returning to Canyon Moon with his hilarious show, The Male Intellect: an oxymoron now playing through June 10 and his latest theatrical hit, Free Range Thinking, from June 14 to 17.

In The Male Intellect, Dubac ransacks his brain to answer the age old question, "What do women want?" This inventive one-man piece pinpoints the differences between the sexes and then celebrates them with ninety minutes of non-stop laughter. It is a multi-character comedy with Mr. Dubac playing all the roles.

"The Male Intellect: an oxymoron first came to my attention when some of our supporters saw it in California," commented Mary Guaraldi, Canyon Moon's Producing Artistic Director. "They came back and told me that this was a funny and inspired must-see for our audiences. When Bob agreed to do the show here at Canyon Moon, I was thrilled."

The rest is a history of sold out performances and joyous laughter.

In Free Range Thinking, Dubac buckles us up for a fast paced joy ride over the pot-holed highways of cultural hypocrisy. Riding shotgun with intelligence and absurdity, he crashes head first into the barriers of politics, religion and the media. This show is a roller coaster ride down the rabbit hole of lip service in search of the truth. It may be offensive to some, but there's laughter for all.

Hailed by critics and audiences alike, Robert Dubac's shows are rare things: clever combinations of theatre and comedy that are laugh out loud funny, provocative and thoughtful.

"Robert Dubac's brilliant physical comedy, combined with witty insights, make The Male Intellect a must-see. He is a virtuoso. It's good and funny. Go." -- The Montreal Gazette

"Hilarious...Dubac's assured theatrical chops and air of genuine anguish elicit big laughs from both sexes together in waves of treble and bass." -- The Los Angeles Times

The Male Intellect: an oxymoron? (June 7 to June 10) and Free Range Thinking (June 14 to June 17) perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and Sundays at 3 p.m. You may view excerpts of the shows at
