A healing environment and ongoing support are very important in the treatment process for those that have been diagnosed with cancer. The highly experienced, multi-disciplinary team at the Cancer Centers of Northern Arizona Healthcare provides comprehensive, coordinated care.
The team at the Cancer Centers of NAH cares about each patient and they believe a healing environment is very important to the treatment process for those who have been diagnosed with cancer. The diagnosis of cancer can be overwhelming for individuals, their family members and others. It may cause emotions such as fear, depression and uncertainty. These emotions give rise to difficult questions commonly asked by patients and family members, such as:
How will cancer impact me physically and emotionally?
Will treatments interfere with my usual activities.?
Can I manage financially?
How do I learn to live with cancer?
The Cancer Centers of NAH, with locations in Sedona and Flagstaff, are non-profit institutions devoted to improving cancer care through advanced technology, while earning the trust and respect of families through individualized care.
The latest in cancer treatments is available at both centers and has brought hope and cure to cancer patients throughout Northern and Central Arizona.
Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation members are passionate advocates of breast cancer awareness and education.
Their committed volunteers join forces with three national partners to increase the effectiveness of their early detection message: Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the National Football League and Yoplait.
Their partnership with Komen began in 1992 when ZTA became the first national sponsor for the Race for the Cure's National Series Breast Cancer Survivor Recognition Programs.
They have remained true to that commitment, providing over 5,000 volunteers each year at 130 races across the country.
ZTA's collaboration with professional football began in 1999 at the first "Think Pink!" game with the Washington Redskins. Since then, ZTA has teamed with 28 of 32 NFL teams.
During the biennium, their volunteers handed out pink ribbons before 41 games at 23 stadiums and participated in pre-game ceremonies.
The campaign, "Save Lids to Save Lives" partnership with Yoplait began in 2004 as a pilot project on 10 college campuses and is now a national effort. During the biennium, ZTA's members collected 658,235 yogurt lids.
In return, Yoplait contacted $60,000 to local Komen affiliates and $30,000 to the ZTA foundation.
ZTA has proprietary rights to the slogan Think Pink, registered with the U.S. Patent Office in 2004. This foundation also helps to fund all of the pink Survivor Tees and Hats that are worn in every Race for the Cure venue throughout the country.
