Lisa Schnebly Heidinger closes Muses season

The last speaker in the 2012 Sedona Muses/Museum of Northern Arizona Lecture Series will be Lisa Schnebly Heidinger, author and great granddaughter of Sedona Schnebly. The lecture is at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 9, at the Sedona United Methodist Church, 110 Indian Cliffs Drive and SR 179. The subject will be Sedona: The Centennial Era and Beyond.

No many of us know that Sedona was founded a decade before Arizona became a state! Even then, this dot on the map was being discovered and added to by tourists and artists who fell in love with Red Rock Country.

Heidinger will take us on a stroll through Sedona's growth, from its earliest residents to those contributing today. Her Centennial gift to our state is her latest book, "Arizona: 100 years Grand", which has been chosen as 2012's OneBookAZ, an exciting statewide program whose mission is to bring Arizona communities together through literature.

Tickets are $7 at Weber's IGA in the Village, Bashas' in Sedona, the Museum in Flagstaff, at the door the night of the lecture, or by calling Janet Moore, 282-9781. Proceeds benefit the Museum of Northern Arizona.
