Sedona P&R hosts Lunar Astronomy Workshop
Look, Up in the Sky

The Sedona Parks and Recreation Department will offer a free Lunar Astronomy workshop Wednesday, March 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Posse Grounds Park. This is your chance to view the moon, Venus, Mars, deep sky galaxies, star clusters, exploding stars, constellations and more.

The workshop is being brought to you by world-known astro-photographer Dennis Young. At 6 p.m., participants can enjoy a 45-minute program on Astro Scenic Photography of Arizona. This lecture covers celestial wonders of the night through the eyes of a wide field camera lens of the Arizona scenery. Following the photography presentation, participants will head outside until 9 p.m. to view the night sky through the use of three different telescopes.

Reserve your spot in this class by calling Parks and Recreation at (928) 282-7098 or signing up in the office at Sedona City Hall, 102 Roadrunner Drive. For more information on this workshop and upcoming Parks and Recreation events, please reference the City website at
