Nine years and counting
We've covered a lot of ground with our little bookstore in the Red Rocks, hosting authors, artists, poets, healers, musicians and more, almost weekly. We've had appearances by international and national bestselling authors, regional celebrities and local legends. I stopped counting at 1,500 bookstore events a couple of years ago, so our total must be closer to 2,000 by now.

Not everyone has a novel in them
There is an old adage (whose origins are quite obscure, as old adages tend to be) that "Everyone has a novel in them."

First of all, that just isn't true. At least one person of the over 7 billion inhabitants of our planet does not have a novel in him - me! And, believe me, I've tried. Just ask my wife, Kris, the internationally published author and writing instructor. I do have a great first chapter of a novel in me, but after that - nadda.

The Dark Side of the Moon
Ever wonder what's on the other side of the moon - the dark side, the far side, the side that is always facing away from Earth, the side we never see?

The moon's rotation on its axis is exactly the same as its rotation around Earth, so the image of the moon that faces Earth never changes. It wasn't until the space age that humans were able to see what's on the other side, first with photographs from the Soviet Luna 3 mission in 1959, and ultimately with the U.S. Apollo manned flights that orbited the moon in the 1960's.
