6/18/2012 8:03:00 AM Publisher hosts Sedona writing contest
Everybody who lives in Sedona (or has moved here and moved away) has a story to tell about how they landed here.
According to book publisher Richard Carmen at Auricle Books, "I've lived here many years and have heard some of the wildest of them. So I decided to offer an open invitation to Sedona residents to tell their story through a writing competition with meaningful cash awards for the most powerful stories."
Auricle Books is a national-international book publisher based in Sedona. Through this competition they're hoping to hear the most inspirational, intriguing and compelling stories, with top awards for First through Third Places comprising $1000, $500, and $250 respectively. "So often we hear about how magical Sedona is and how people are drawn here," Dr. Carmen said, "and now we'll be able to read how that has come about for some. If we collect enough good stories, I'd like to see them compiled into a book that could be published by our group in 2013."
Auricle Books is hoping the word will spread through Facebook and Twitter to inform many other Sedonans of the opportunity to make a little money and tell their outstanding stories.
Requirements for the contest can be viewed at www.BooksForHealingBodyMindAndSpirit.com. The deadline for receiving submissions is July 14, 2012.
Winners will be announced in October on their website.
