4/16/2012 8:03:00 AM Learn how to submit for publication at Well Red Coyote The view from the editor's desk
How do you get an agent, editor or publisher to say, "Send me the complete manuscript" about your writing? And by contrast, why do they say, 'Thanks, but this isn't for us'?
Your first sentence, 100 words, query and sample chapters sell you and your work. But what if they're not all you want them to be?
Jan Holmes Frost, a Managing Editor with Fireship Press, will share the view from the editor's desk, presenting "The Ten Most Common Errors" in author submissions, on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m., at The Well Red Coyote bookstore.
Frost received her education in Boston, Mass. An author and an artist, she has founded and taught fiction writing workshops in California, Texas, Arizona and Colorado.
She is a freelance editor, a managing editor with Fireship Press, of Tucson, and a member of the Board of Directors of The Society of Southwestern Authors. She has two books published: "Eight Things You Need to Know to Write a Novel," and her techno/thriller "Without Sanctions."
Seize this rare chance to get an insider's view directly from a busy working acquisitions editor.
