THE MANHEIM GALLERY in Old Town Cottonwood announces an artists' opportunity to take part in a really fun fundraiser for the Cottonwood Library.
To make it easy for you, THE MANHEIM will provide 6-by-6-inch gallery wrap canvases for you, the artist, upon which to create works of art, using a theme of "Books." These canvases will easily take acrylic or oil paints, or you may be ultra-creative and do multi-media pieces using the canvases as a base for your artwork.
The plan is that each artwork will be sold for $45 and all the proceeds will benefit the Library. You are encouraged to use your imagination, create multiple pieces, and have a great time.
Here's the schedule:
April 4-7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Pick up your canvases at the gallery
May 30-31 and June 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. - Return your completed artworks to the gallery
June 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. - Artists/Community Reception and the sales begin
June 30 - Show & sales conclude
In early July the proceeds from the sales will be gifted to Bookmarks, the volunteer arm of the Cottonwood Library, which raises money throughout the year by selling books that have been donated. Such funds are used entirely for projects that are not within the Library budget, such as the purchase of rental books and funding of special needs in the Youth Services area. The money raised by the generous donation of your artistic talent will be used similarly, to provide supplemental funding for the Library's Summer Reading program as well as adult programming that otherwise could not be achieved.
Call (928) 649-0130 or 639-0879 for more information. And be part of a project that will immediately benefit your own community, your own library, which gives so much back to us all.
