Cottonwood has both an Indoor Leisure pool at the Cottonwood Recreation Center and an Outdoor Pool at the Cottonwood Aquatics Center at 100 Brian Mickelsen Parkway. The CAC opens May 26 while the CRC Indoor Pool is open year round. Please pick up a 2012 Cottonwood Aquatics Guide at the CRC for daily swim times and other important information.

The CRC Indoor Pool is also open to youth 7am to 10am and 1pm to 3pm, Mondays thru Fridays though the lap lanes are reserved for adult swimming only.

Use of the Outdoor Pool during the regular summer season is included in the benefits of all CRC memberships, including day passes. CRC pricing information is on the city website, cottonwoodaz.gov/parksrec and in the Leisure Times.
PARENT & TOT SWIM CLASS
$7.50 per parent/child per class
Held in the Outdoor pool, you are in the water with your baby ages 6 months to 3 years. Baby will learn to enjoy the water and have a safe aquatics experience. Goals include feeling comfortable, changing body position, some arm and leg action and breath control. Fee payable at registration. Pre-registration required at the CRC front desk. Dates to be announced soon.
"Learn to Swim" Program
Youth ages 3 to 15 are offered four levels of swim instruction. Levels are mandated by the American Red Cross and are taught by trained and certified Water Safety Instructors. All four levels offered at three different times during four separate sessions.
Lessons are 30 minutes a day for ten days. The 10-day sessions are held every day during the 2-week period except for Sunday.

Level I is offered at the following times:
10 - 10:30 AM, 10:45 - 11:15 AM, OR 11:30 - 12 PM
Levels II to IV are offered at the following times:
8:30 - 9 AM, 9:15 - 9:45 AM, OR 10 - 10:30 AM
ABRIDGED CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
LEVEL ONE "MINNOWS" - A water exploration class that helps students feel comfortable and learn to enjoy the water safely. Students must be mature enough to attend classes without parental supervision.
Level I is taught at the CRC leisure pool.
LEVEL TWO "GUPPIES" - A primary skills class that teaches students to float without support, hold their breath, fully submerge head and beginning stroking techniques.
LEVEL THREE "GOLDFISH" - Students learn to jump and dive and get increased instruction on different crawls and strokes. Students should feel comfortable in chest deep or deeper water.
LEVEL FOUR "SEALS" - This level develops confidence in strokes learned thus far and strives to improve other aquatic skills.
Registering for "Learn to Swim"
Registrations accepted at the Cottonwood Recreation Center beginning Wednesday, April 18. Please complete a separate registration form for each child and for each specific session. Forms are available at the office. Fees are $35 per child per session ($30 for additional children in family) and due at time of registration. Phone-in registrations not accepted. Online registration available through the city's website at cottonwoodaz.gov/parksrec.
Parents should determine which level to place their child in by reading the complete descriptions in the 2012 Aquatics Center Guide. Student level may be adjusted if deemed necessary by the instructors.
