Recreation offerings for youth in spring/summer 2012

Parks and Recreation Calendar of Events:

Earth Day Solar Astronomy Workshop- Sunday, April 22 12:00 p.m. Posse Grounds Park. Looking at the sun through a telescope is a unique experience. Join others for this mini-presentation and telescope viewing on Earth Day.

Kid's Photo Hunt & Hike- Second Saturday of the month, May 12, June 9, July 14 and August 11 all at 8:30 a.m. Ranger lead hikes through two different City parks. Children take photographs and create a photo journal at the end of the hike. These walks are appropriate for children 6-12 years of age.

Community Campout- June 1&2 beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday at Sunset Park. Camp in the park for only $15 per tent. Astronomy, hiking, cook out and more.

Swim Lessons- 4 Sessions of swim lessons being offered this summer at the Sedona Community Pool. First Session begins June 4. Morning and evening lessons are available for all skill levels.

4th of July Concert and Laser Show- Wednesday, July 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Posse Grounds Park.

2 hour concert event, food for sale, and laser light show. Free Admission.

Wet Wednesdays- Every Wednesday in July from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Posse Grounds Park. The multiuse field turns on its sprinklers and kids and adults can enjoy running through the cool water on the green grass. Free admission.

A Dog's Day Out in the Park- Saturday, July 21 at 7 a.m. at Posse Grounds Park.

Free admission for dog owners and their pets. Vendors on site, free dog bandannas, and an off leash play area.
