Lisa Bacon: Busy Being
The Sedona Art Museum will hold its first fundraising event of the season, "Lisa Bacon: Busy Being," hosted by the family in the home of Ron Bacon, a retired Emmy Award winning director, at 236 Eagle Lane, Sedona, from 1 to 6 p.m. Nov. 1, by invitation only and from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, for the general public.

Navajo stone sculptor Alvin Marshall returns to Rowe Fine Art Gallery for his third annual show on Oct. 3, and while we would love to tell you what he'll debut that evening, it's top secret - even for us. "I'm calling the piece Beyond Tradition," says Alvin. "It was inspired by my trip to Santa Fe Indian Market this year. I'm a traditional guy, but I was surrounded by these young mainstream artists. Us old guys need to come up with ways to keep up with the kids, so that's what this piece is about."

Bell Rock Plaza Art Show returns for 18th season
The September Bell Rock Plaza Art and Craft show is scheduled for Sept. 13-14 and there will be many old favorites as well as some new artists who have never shown here before.

There will be over 35 artists and included will be paintings, photograpy, jewelry, glass art, metal sculpture, Native flutes and music, rugs, olive oils and balsamic, soaps and spa products, knives, wind spinners, leather Hopi Kachinas, and more.

Life-size 'Athena's Prayer' awaits sculptor's finishing touches
As allegorical sculptor James Muir continues work on his monumental project for Kyle Stadium at Texas A&M University, he will also return some focus to a patriotic female soldier piece entitled "Athena's Prayer" that he began work on in the maquette size in 2012, which was recently completed in bronze.
