Sculptor-Painter David Fischel An Original
"I never considered myself a three-dimensional sculptor," says David Fischel, scratching his mane of white hair. "When I was in my early 20s, I'd see printers' blocks and would start to paint them. The ink saturates the wood and the chisel marks are beautiful to work with."

Suave, world-traveler Curt Walters has a vast new project, a mission in mind, to add to his assemblage of award-winning oil paintings of the Grand Canyon.

He plans to paint a scene of Spanish conquistadors discovering the Grand Canyon in 1540 under Garcia Lopez de Cardenas.

Ken Rowe: Sculptor of Wildlife
A stately elk stretches upward to utter a mating cry. A large grizzly bear sniffs the air, ready to defend two cubs. Another grizzly chortles over two salmon lying at his feet. A pheasant rises almost vertically, tail and wing feathers swooping to the ground. An eagle poises in flight, wings and tail forming upward planes. The most vulnerable of the animals on view is an undaunted fawn munching a blade of grass.
