8/12/2013 3:30:00 PM Work of Charles Freeman showcased at weekend Bell Rock Plaza art show
Bell Rock Plaza will host the only summer art and craft show Aug. 17-18. This show has been anxiously awaited by the artists as the summer season has been very rainy at most of the mountain art shows.
There will be around 30 artists at this show with some exciting items for you.
Featured at this show will be Charles Freeman. He travels the country participating in art shows and spends quite a bit of time in Sedona.
Charles was born in Medford, Ore., and has spent 40 years honing his artistic prospective of painting famous icons.
Having an infatuation with music and a tenacity for detail, he has brought forth award winning pieces. On black artist board, Charles uses white acrylic paint in a distinctive style of dark and light to bring out the faces of famous musicians, singers and stars.
The fine strokes of the minute brushes enhance detail and clarity, bestowing ghostly life to over 150 icons. Next he uses color. With a mix of acrylic strokes and the flair of an airbrush his unique style unfolds. Charles sells fine art prints of his work as well as originals.
Also at the show will be a sign maker called Signs of the Times. Some of these signs are metal, like street signs, and there will also be digital computer generated signs for all purposes.
These are made right on the spot, so get your sign needs together and come out to the show.
There will be paintings, metal art, jewelry, soaps and lotions, photography, gourmet olive oils, birdhouses, crystals and rocks, and more.
Bell Rock Plaza is located on Hwy. 179 in the Village of Oakcreek, Sedona next door to the La Quinta Inn. The show dates are Aug. 17-18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
