The Stain of Politics rears its yearly head for the fifth time at Gallery 527 in Jerome. Gallery artists comment on the world around us in glass, ceramic, pen and ink, photography and painting. Special guests include Kevin Geary, Christopher Fox Graham performing poetry, writer Patrick Whitehurst with a short story and artist Michael Gallagher with his cartoon magic for third time at the gallery. Dave Rentz returns to the gallery with his array of fascinating instruments beginning at 5pm.

Interesting enough this year, a few of the gallery artists have created pieces that are filled with hope for the future. Donna Chesler has created a mixed media piece about the possibilities of space exploration, Ardis Harsche continues her drawings of the members of the Jerome family of 400 and Susan Pitcairn's colored pencil piece depicts a Jerome in the future, filled with sustainable and positive energy. The performance art will begin at 6:30. For more information on Jerome Art Walk, contact Donna at 649-2277.

A poem that will be read by Kevin Geary

Drones

by Kevin Geary

Our taxes used

And squandered

On weapons

Remotely controlled

By young men

Who bring death to others

Far away

Whom they never see

On the other side of the globe
