For those who can't get enough of 2012 Sedona PhotoFest, which runs June 7-10, Susie Reed is conducting a scenic Sedona sunset photo instruction tour in collaboration with the event.

It will be on Monday, June 11, 4:30-8 p.m. and will allow photographers to extend their experience one more day by studying with an engaging, knowledgeable, informative expert.

Participants will gather in the late afternoon at the Sedona Arts Center where Susie will take an in depth look how to take good pictures.

She'll share photo tips, explain camera settings, what types and sizes of files to shoot, how to use a polarizing filter, achieve good composition and discuss ways adapt to various situations.

She'll also talk about intangibles photographers can draw upon to develop their own unique eye.

Then the group will go on a colorful off-road jeep tour to shoot some spectacular Sedona rock formations, panoramic vistas and lowland desert areas combined with high mountain forests. A U.S. Forest Service permitted company will provide transportation.

This year's Sedona PhotoFest is happening for the second time. Jack Dykinga and Susie Reed are among some prominent photographers at the first who will be returning.

Susie is speaking June 7 at 5 p.m. in the Sedona Arts Center Theater and Jack at 7 p.m. on June 9. Susie's presentation is already full, but there is still room to join her for a more intimate learning experience and photo shoot on her June 11 sunset photo instruction tour.

Studying with Susie Reed is an opportunity to learn from a seasoned fine art and commercial photographer who has over 30 years experience behind the camera.

Her critically acclaimed work has been shown in the Cooper Hewitt Museum, the De Young Museum, the International Museum of Photography and elsewhere. Her pictures are in many publications and on an array of products, including several calendars.

Susie teaches privately, at the Sedona Arts Center and formerly at California College of the Arts and San Francisco Art Institute.

Susie shows her photos at Goldenstein Gallery where she'll be featured in their new "Location, Location, Location" exhibit that opens Friday, June 1. She will be showing her well-known Southwest rock art photos and a new series of rich vibrant images that are about colors, textures, shapes and fluidity as seen in flowing brilliantly colored flamenco skirts and lush complex gardens.

Susie Reed's June 11 scenic Sedona Sunset Photo Instruction Tour is open to photographers of all levels.
