The art and craft show at Bell Rock Plaza on May 5-6 will have and array of art mixed with crafts and lots of great jewelry as well. There will be over 40 artists including jewelry, paintings, sculpture, mixed media wall art, rugs, pottery, metal, lapidary, crystals, spa products and soaps, photography, glass, hats, and more.

The featured artist is a stone sculpter named Mark Breithaupt from Phoenix. He carves abstract freeform sculptures from stone and his stone of choice is amber onyx/honeycomb calcite. He works almost exclusively in that stone since discovering that people are drawn like a magnet to it. The amber color, the way the light passes through the stone, the white honeycomb patterns, the energy, all demand attention and as a result he began to explore the possibilities that the stone could be expressed and presented for enjoyment. He uses the light and layers of stone to create stunning color. The multiple layers bring out deeper, darker, and more vibrant amber color.

Mark does use stone of all types from around the world and his carvings explore each stone type to uncover its unique qualities and natural beauty.

The show hours are 10 to 5, Sarurday and Sunday, May 5-6 at Bell Rock Plaza. Bell Rock Plaza is located on Hwy 179 in the Village of Oak Creek, next door to the La Quita Inn. For more information, please call (928) 284-9627 or visit
