Tolman featured at Bell Rock Arts & Crafts Show
The watercolor works of Sherry Tolman debut at the VOC show.
The watercolor works of Sherry Tolman debut at the VOC show.

April 21-22 at Bell Rock Plaza there will be another art and craft show. There will be over 40 artists at this show and Sedona at this time of year is a Mecca for visitors and tourists to come to see what the artists are showing. There will be quite a bit of great photography at this show, with a couple of first time artists, and of course a lot of great jewelry from many of our favorites. There will be handmade soaps, lotions, and spa products, paintings, mixed media wall art, glass art, metal art, knives, crystal wands made to order, hats, lapidary work, and rugs, from Zapotec to antique Persian.

The featured artist at this show is one of the new artists and she has been a resident of Scottsdale for two years. Before that, she and her husband spent 15 years full time on the road showing at Art Shows. Sherry Tolman has been a fine watercolor artist all of her adult life and began doing art when she was only 17 years old. She learned from her mother and is basically self taught. She has never watched another watercolor artist paint.

What is unusual about her work is the brilliant colors. She paints wildlife and the animals are anatomically correct, then she goes off into a whimsical kaleidoscope of color which resembles batick. Her paintings are quite large for watercolors and her canvas prints are even larger, reaching 37-by-52.

She recently participated in the Fine Art Show at Indian Wells, Calif., and is anxious to share her work with Sedona.

Bell Rock Plaza is located on Hwy 179 in the Village of Oak Creek, right next door to the La Quinta Inn. The dates are April 21-22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. For more information, please call (928) 284-9627 or visit
