Release your inner artist this spring at the fourth annual Chalk it Up! event in Prescott, April 21-22. Anyone, from doodlers to serious pros, is welcome to partake of the chalk arts in the Foothills Bank parking lot, 201 N. Montezuma St.

Last year more than 900 artists created some fantastic art, drawing more than 1,000 spectators to watch them work.

This free, family-friendly event is intended to cultivate and support the creativity in people of all ages and abilities.

Participants get their own four-foot by four-foot space and a box of 12 pastel chalks for their creation (you may supply your own chalk as well, but only if it is water-based).

If you are the ambitious sort and would like a larger space in which to unleash your muse, then call Sharon at 928-308-8762 (or email to pre-register.

To learn more about this event, go to To find out more about what Prescott  or call 800-266-7534.
