Sedona Arts Center is pleased to host Sedona PhotoFest 2012 on June 7-10.

Keeping to a reputation for high quality arts education in an intimate setting, PhotoFest 2012 offers a select group of master photographers with in-depth areas of expertise and an opportunity to catch the majesty and magic of Sedona's landscape each day. New this year is a Thursday schedule of events and the symposium free to the public.

Sedona PhotoFest 2012 Southwest Photography Competition, Symposium and Exhibition is Sedona Arts Center's second biennial photography festival. Sedona PhotoFest 2012 is an opportunity for photography enthusiasts to discover Sedona's red rock beauty and learn from some of the best photographers in the country in a stimulating but intimate environment.

Sedona PhotoFest's Open Competition seeks to offer photography enthusiasts a chance to win more than a $1,000 in prizes. In addition, competitors juried in will qualify to be showcased in the 2012 PhotoFest Exhibition and judged by Colleen Miniuk-Sperry, Floris van Breugel, Bobbie Goodrich, Rob Sheppard and Jack Dykinga. Sedona PhotoFest Open Competition is open exclusively to Enthusiasts of all ages (non-professional photographers and students) in Nature Photography - including Landscape, Nature, Wildlife and the Southwest. All entries must be postmarked by April 13, 2012, and those juried in will be informed by mail.

The winning entries will be asked to submit a mounted print for exhbition and judging in the Sedona PhotoFest Exhibition during the festival. Entries will be accepted by mail or in-person through 5 p.m. April 13, when accompanied with the completed Entry Form and processing fee of $10. Winners will be announced at the Sedona PhotoFest's Awards Wrap Party on Sunday, June 10.

Sedona PhotoFest 2012 is excited to open with Thursday's presenters, Colleen Miniuk-Sperry introducing her new book Wild in Arizona - Photographing Arizona's Wildflowers and Floris van Breugel presenting two talks on Art and Nature exploring "Style" and the "Twilight Hour." Friday's workshop features Bobbie Goodrich on Nik filters; Saturday they welcome back Rob Sheppard in-depth with Adobe PhotoShop Lightroom and Sunday Jack Dykinga returns for an intimate Masters Workshop. The full Symposium and Workshop schedule is available in the Sedona ArtZine and online below. Space for each workshop is limited so all those interested are encouraged to sign up early. Tickets to the Evening Symposium will be open to the public from Thursday through Saturday and features workshop presenters as well as guided opportunities with Sedona professionals.
