Metal artist Michael Krob featured at Bell Rock Art Show

March 17-18 will be the dates for the St. Patrick's weekend Art and Craft Show at Bell Rock Plaza in the Village of Oakcreek.

There will be over 40 artists at this show, and now that Spring is here, the shows are really pleasant for meandering about and lingering.

Vibhas will be entertaining again and making the event festive and of course he has his CD's available.

Featured will be a metal artist from Cortez, Colo., Michael J. Krob.

His company is Reflections in Metal and it has been quite some time since he has shown in Sedona, although he has been here in the past.

Krob has been influenced by being brought up immersed in Native American culture, primarily Navajo and Ute.

Cortez is at the base of Mesa Verde National Park. His natural artistic ability was nurtured by a welding teacher in high school.

He became a certified welder and started creating and designing his beautiful metal art. He has been participating in fine art exhibitions across the country for over a decade and has pieces displayed in regional public parks and commercial properties.

Each piece is cut from steel and finished using several techniques that creat a mesmerizing visual effect when the art reflects the natural light.

The steel is scorched to bring out some or all of the 32 natural colors.

The variety of tone and color mean that each piece is unique.

Once the piece is complete the steel is powder coated for generational durability and everlasting beauty. The powder coated finished piece is virtually resistant to rust and corrosion.

There will be jewelry, lapidary work, photography, paintings, mixed media wall art, Mata Ortiz pottery, rugs, copper art, metal art, soaps and spa products, and more.

The show hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, March 17-18.

The show is at Bell Rock Plaza on Hwy 179 in the Village of Oakcreek, Sedona.
