Celebrate 'Second Saturday' at Village Gallery with Gary Farr, Mike Parrish and Mark Vranesh
The March event will feature two art demonstrations on Saturday afternoon.  Mark Vranesh, mixed media painter, will demonstrate papermaking. Mike Parrish and Gary Farr will demonstrate their pottery kits to create “artifacts” in the style of our Native American ancestors.

Mixed media artist Mark Vranesh is new to Sedona from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Influenced by his love for the Southwest and “those who came before us," Vranesh incorporates petroglyph images and landscapes into his impressionistic style.

The Village Gallery in the Village of Oak Creek celebrates "Second Saturday" on March 10 from 1-3 p.m. Each month features gallery members with artist demonstrations and "meet the artists" day.

The March event will feature two art demonstrations on Saturday afternoon. Mark Vranesh, mixed media painter, will demonstrate papermaking. Mike Parrish and Gary Farr will demonstrate their pottery kits to create "artifacts" in the style of our Native American ancestors.

Gary Farr and Mike Parrish are the owners of Arte Fakes Historic Pottery Kits and have spent 25 years in the design field producing everything from custom wall finishes, murals, furniture antiquing to graphic design.

Since relocating from Corona del Mar, California, they now produce the do-it-yourself kits and their own line of pit-fired pottery Their work is showcased at the Village Gallery as well as at the Grand Canyon State Park, Mesa Verde National Park and others.

Mixed media artist Mark Vranesh is new to Sedona from San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Influenced by his love for the Southwest and "those who came before us," Vranesh incorporates petroglyph images and landscapes into his impressionistic style. His paper castings, formed with everything from seashells to colonial Mexican tile, become part of his finished art.

He will show the gallery guests the traditional method of making paper from recycled materials using a kitchen blender.

The Village Gallery, comprised of 45 local artists, is a visual feast of creativity.

Located at 6500 Hwy 179 at Cortez Roundabout and open daily from 10 until 6, the Sedona community and visitors are welcome to browse the unique collection of art work and bring home a piece of it to treasure for years.
