This is the movie year of old guys slaughtering bad guys. The likes of Liam Neeson and Pierce Brosnan are now followed, most believably, by Denzel Washington. In The Equalizer, he takes on a role familiar to fans of 1980s TV.

Movie Review: Follow the money and character shifts of 'The Drop'
Part crime story and part character study, The Drop is a little film that comes out of nowhere and leaves a mark.

Far more than the late James Gandolfini's last film, The Drop is another gem from writer Dennis Lehane, who gave us Mystic River and Shutter Island.

Movie Review: More to learn of people, animals in 'Dolphin Tale 2'
It's more of the same but perhaps even more educational in the family film Dolphin Tale 2.

Still inspired by the true story of Winter, the dolphin with the prosthetic tail, the sequel follows the next dramatic twist. Not exactly a necessary movie, it's greatest strengths are the encouragement for people with disabilities and the advancement of the "rescue, rehab, release" of injured wild animals.
