In a live conversation broadcast via satellite, Albright looks at her family’s experiences during this tumultuous time in history before, during and after World War II. The conversation will be hosted by Christiane Amanpour, the Global Affairs Anchor of ABC News and Chief International Correspondent at CNN.
New York's famous 92nd Street Y comes to Sedona on Thursday, May 3 when the Sedona International Film Festival hosts the live simulcast of an evening with Madeleine Albright. The special event will take at 5:00 p.m. at the festival's new Mary D. Fisher Theatre.
Now in its ninth year, "Live from NY's 92nd Street Y" brings the world's most compelling people to over 50 cities across North America via a unique live, interactive satellite broadcast program. The Sedona Film Festival is the official host of program in Northern Arizona. The festival is proud to bring this renowned educational and cultural programming to the Sedona community.
On May 3, "Live from NY's 92nd Street Y" presents Madeleine Albright. In her new and most personal book, Prague Winter: A Personal Story of Remembrance and War, 1937-1948, Albright looks at her family's experiences during this tumultuous time in history before, during and after World War II.
In this conversation, hear Albright's story along with her interviews with contemporaries and newly available documents about the enormously complex events that took place.
Albright served as the 64th Secretary of State from 1997 to 2001 and was the first female to hold that esteemed office. Her distinguished career also includes positions on Capitol Hill, the National Security Council and as US Ambassador to the United Nations. She is the author of four New York Times Bestsellers, including Madam Secretary: A Memoir (2003); The Mighty and the Almighty: Reflections on America, God, and World Affairs (2006); Memo to the President: How We Can Restore America's Reputation and Leadership (2008); and Read My Pins: Stories from a Diplomat's Jewel Box (2009).
