Tuesday, July 22, from 6 to 8 p.m., join Rosemary Chavez for a laid back evening of piano and vocals at REDS located at the Sedona Rouge Hotel and Spa in West Sedona.
Many of you know Rosemary as the lead vocalist of the popular groups Jazz a'la mode and PLATINUM. At REDS, you'll enjoy another style of music where Rosemary covers songs from artists such as Bette Midler, Lionel Richie, Bobbie Gentry, The Beatles, John Denver and many more. Included in the mix are many of Rosemary's original piano and vocal compositions which have become favorites for many fans.
Rosemary's rich tapestry of musical performances began as a young child in her native Minnesota playing piano and singing whenever the opportunity arose. It was on one such occasion that she caught the attention of world renowned choral conductor, Weston Noble, which led to her attending Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and singing under his direction in the Nordic Choir. While earning her Bachelor of Arts degree at Luther, she spent her summers honing her style with musical show groups including a stint on Mackinaw Island before moving to Los Angeles. In 2010, Rosemary reunited with the Weston Noble Alumni Choir for their European Tour to Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic where she was a featured soloist in Prague.
While in Los Angeles, Rosemary worked in small combos with artists such as Billy Mitchell and Nick DeMauro to large big bands such as The Ron Rubin Orchestra. She played clubs on the famed Sunset Strip, high end society events in Beverly Hills, and venues from Hollywood to Disneyland. Her professional recordings include three solos along with The National Philharmonic Orchestra on the movie soundtrack, ROAR, which was a top ten album in Australia, starring actresses Tippi Hedren ("The Birds") and Melanie Griffith ("Working Girl"). Prior to leaving LA for Sedona, composer, arranger and conductor, Terence P. Minogue, chose Rosemary as the featured vocalist for his American Voices CD. Rosemary's most recent vocal recording is the popular "Sweet Jazz a'la mode" CD featuring Frankie Chavez on drums, Steve Sandner on keyboard, and Scottish Bryan Sinclair on bass.
REDS is a lovely restaurant, bar and lounge where you can get together with friends and family to enjoy delicious food, wine and drinks along with Rosemary's musical selections that compliment the room for a more relaxed experience. To learn more about Chavez Music please go to www.chavez-music.com.
