Marketplace Café in Village of Oak Creek is pleased to announce the performance on Aug. 22 by regional favorite, guitarist Rick Cyge. This month features new ongoing appearances by Cyge from 6-9 p.m. each Thursday as he performs selections from his upcoming CD release and more.

Showcasing his unique fingerstyle playing and an exciting repertoire of music, Cyge performs his intriguing arrangements of music from greats like Simon & Garfunkel, Sting, Nora Jones, The Hollies, Crosby, Stills & Nash, and The Eagles. Presenting the spirit of the original pieces in fresh new interpretations, Cyge entertains with a repertoire that also encompasses Baby Boomer Classics, folk, pop, blues and a little Motown for fun. Original pieces composed by Cyge, including "Blue Sedona", and a nearly endless selection of Beatles music rounds out the musical menu.

This week Cyge offers a special limited edition autographed pre-release of his new recording, "Guitartistry: The Music of Fingerstyle Guitarist, Rick Cyge", available for purchase during the evening.

Cyge's solo instrumental guitar performances have become a popular pastime for lucky northern Arizona audiences. Marketplace Café regulars and locals will also recognize Cyge from his popular duo, Seymour & Cyge, which performs regularly at the Café.

Cyge's been doing what he loves for over 50 years and it shows. With roots in New England, he cut his teeth in that vibrant folk music scene.

Since moving to Arizona in 1988, he has been performing with his wife, flutist Lynn Trombetta as the group "Meadowlark." In 2011 he formed his duo with Chris Seymour. The common thread that prevails is Cyge's intricately woven arrangements and pure "Guitartistry" on the instrument. See video of Rick Cyge at

Located at 6645 Route 179 in Village of Oak Creek, Marketplace Café can be easily found in the southeast corner of the Shopping Mall.

Reservations are suggested; please call 928-284-5478.
