Chris Jamison: Folk & country music in Hoppy Grape Lounge July 26
Chris Jamison
Chris Jamison

Singer/songwriter Chris Jamison brings his unique folk and country music to the Sedona Wine and Beer Company's outdoor patio, also known as the Hoppy Grape Lounge, this Friday, July 26, 7-10 p.m. Sedona Wine and Beer Company's outdoor patio is the ideal setting for an evening with music good wine, beer, Softails, non-alcoholic drinks and Tapas.

Calling his lyrics "contemporary poetry," The Austin Chronicle dubbed Jamison "the Paul Simon of Texas". Fusing the most genuine elements of folk and country, the music strikes a balance between being wholly unique and strangely familiar. No Depression Magazine called Jamison's songs "earworm lasting and sing-a-long immediate," harkening back to a time when music could be catchy and still have depth and substance. Recorded in Austin and Marfa, Cradle to Cradle was the first of Jamison's albums to be cut in his native Texas, allowing him to work with some of the country's best musicians and engineers and bring the first chapter of his career full-circle.

Chris Jamison was born in Texas, raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia and finished high school in London, England. It was in London that he first began writing and performing his own songs, putting his notebooks full of poetry to music. Since then Chris has earned a degree in political science from the University of Virginia, spent years living and working on organic farms in Central Texas, toured and traveled across the globe and written hundreds of songs along the way. Since 2007, he has independently released three full-length records (mastering the first two Into Surrender and Strangers and Lovers at Abbey Road Studios).

The spring of 2013 marked the beginning of a new chapter in Chris life, leaving Texas for Northern Arizona's beautiful Verde Valley, to focus on writing, recording and performing full-time. The Hoppy Grape Lounge is honored to have Chris playing this Friday July 26, at 7 p.m. Make it a point to try a different wine or beer this time, or try one of Liberdi's special drink mixes -- "Softails" - which are made with fermented alcohol (wine) and not distilled alcohol (spirit). Sedona Wine and Beer Company is located at 2575 W. S.R. 89A in West Sedona. For more information call (928) 554-4682 or visit
