Whisperings Solo Piano Radio will be presenting concerts in Arizona that feature three of its popular artists: Joe Bongiorno, Joseph Akins and Amy Janelle. Attendees will hear an evening of melodic solo piano music and get to know the artists as they share insights about their music.

The Sedona concert will be Friday, June 1, 7 p.m., at Sedona Creative Life Center, 333 Schnebly Hill Road.

Tickets are $15 at the door. To purchase in advance, call 1-800-838-3006 or go to www.solopianoradio.com.

Dr. Joseph Akins lives a dual life as both a piano artist and a college professor. His most recent solo piano album, A Piano Christmas, was nominated for Best Holiday Album of 2011 at SoloPiano.com, and his album Spirit Touch was selected as one of the 40 Best Solo Piano Albums of the Decade (2000 to 2010) at MainlyPiano.com. His heartfelt playing is often compared to the likes of David Lanz, but the blending of his southern roots with his jazz background has created a distinct sound of his own. In addition, he is an award-winning associate professor at the Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University. For more info, go to www.josephakins.com.

Joe Bongiorno, "Glass of wine & candlelight music"... perfectly describes the intimate melodies of award winning Seattle based solo pianist - composer Joe Bongiorno, a Kawai piano recording and performing artist.

After abandoning his classical training as a child, Joe returned to the piano in his late 20s and discovered a wonderful channel of peace & emotional release. All of Joe's solo piano recordings are self-produced at his Piano Haven Recording Studio. For more info, go to www.solopianomusic.com.

Amy Janelle has been playing piano since the third grade. She took classical lessons for several years, and then she found her passion for writing music at the age of 13. She continued writing piano music and released her debut album, "Shining True," November 2010.

Her album has eleven songs, three of them with vocals. She continues composing and performing her music in the greater Seattle area as well as across the country.
