The community is invited to join Sedona United Methodist Church for a free concert to celebrate Mother's Day, Sunday, May 13, at 2 p.m.

Sedona United Methodist Church will host singer & pianist, Mary Hollan for an afternoon performance entitled A Mother's Day Song Celebration. Along with special songs to honor our mothers, Mary will sing Broadway classics, love songs and a few familiar hymns.

Originally from Aberdeen, S.D., Mary has been singing professionally for many years, for several of those years she provided keyboard and back-up vocals at Los Abrigados Resort for the well known R&B singer in Sedona, Sammy Davis. On the bigger stages, they opened for Chubby Checker, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, the Coasters and the Drifters and traveled internationally.

Mary is also a speaker and musical performer for the national Christian organization, Stonecroft Ministries, which is an outreach to all women. In Arizona, she performs at churches which help support her ministry to the elderly in memory care and critical care units where she sings on a weekly basis. Mary volunteers in the foster program at Arizona Humane Society and has adopted a dog which goes with her to many of the facilities and enhances the programs by just being "lovable" to everyone attending.

Mary currently lives with her husband Robert and their dogs, Wylie and Sparky in Goodyear.

After the concert, everyone is invited to stay for an ice cream float party on the patio. Root beer floats will be served as well as other float favorites including orange and cherry flavors. During the concert a free will offering will be collected with the proceeds benefitting Mary's work and the programs at the church.

Sedona United Methodist Church is located at 110 Indian Cliffs Road in Sedona.
