In 2005 a solo singer/songwriter collided with a textured vocalist not only to begin a friendship, but to move forward into a project. Both parties in transition encouraged originality, and invited reflection and release.
For vocalist Nathan Trujillo, multiple years of travel and exposure ran into a hiatus away from the Big City and struggle. His strong need for creative expression has led him on a soul searching journey to write and connect with people with like minds. Nathan states, "Finding the right band or musician to work with is like finding the right relationship. There has to be this intangible but unmistakable connection that you can't explain, but it's there...and through this, great music is created. I am lucky to say that I have made this connection but only a few times in my life, so when it happens, it's golden, and it must be cherished and nurtured."
Practically born playing an instrument and singing, Jason Kevin has felt called to invent himself through music. Performing with family throughout his childhood, and later searching for himself through writing songs, he now continues forward anticipating success. "Redland allows me to venture deep into a friendship by conjoining it with my passion. I see Nathan and I surrounded with what we both love; the sounds of our dreams, and a duality unmatched."
Saith is a singer/songwriter in the vain of Lenny Kravits, Michael Jackson, Ben Harper, Jason Mraz, Amos Lee, and Michael Franti. All of Saith's original songs are infused with a strong passion for Global Truth, Heart Healing, and awakening consciousness. Combing folk, rock, soul, and just a twinge of hip/hop Saith takes you on a lyrically driven journey of spirit in our modern world! Saith was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, exposed to many styles of music growing up. The landmarks of his musical passion were always related to the power of music as a message. In 2000 Saith began writing songs.
Over the last 10 years, while teaching Yoga and guiding Sedona visitors on the magical land of Sedona, Saith has accumulated much experience performing live, both in solo and in band settings in numerous kinds of venues all over the country and to all different audiences with overwhelming positive response. Saith has since also created his own Label/Publishing Company, Saith Music LLC, and has been actively composing and producing his songs in his home based music studio ever since.
Adam Smith is a singer/songwriter/producer from the mountains of Southeastern Kentucky. He was discovered while singing for change on the streets of Nashville. Adam's voice and well crafted songs stood out and caught immediate attention. With echoes an era of peace and love, with a sound that is uniquely fresh and all-his-own, his music is a blend of Americana and Alt-country with Celtic and Bluegrass undertones.
Influenced by a multitude of mostly female artists like Joni Mitchell, Stevie Nicks, Mary Chapin Carpenter and others, his approach gives a different spin on what it means to be a male singer in today's industry. "I relate more to females" Adam says. At the young age of 7, Adam discovered the piano. "My mother used to clean for this old Baptist church in the woods, she would take me with her and I would be in the sanctuary the whole time writing and composing. Music is still a sanctuary for me". In 2003 he began to play the guitar, which is now his primary instrument.
His debut album "Another Way to Get to Heaven" was released in the spring of 2010 and has been well received. With ten original songs, Smith has managed to cover a wide spectrum of emotions, ranging from the ecstatic hope of new-found love in "Do You Feel the Same?" to the angry disappointment of a relationship gone bad in the sassy, up tempo "Hard to Sleep". But his songwriting is inspired by more that just relationships. The title song is about exactly what it suggests; alternatives, which is what Adam Smith is all about. "I believe heaven exists in all of us" he says.
His single, "A Friend is a Stranger", is a song inspired by the work of Teen Lifeline, Arizona's peer-to-peer counseling hotline for troubled and suicidal teens, including two bonus tracks. All proceeds from the single go to benefit Teen Lifeline. Smith plans to release is newest album "Around the Bend" in late May 2012.
Adam's music can be found on iTunes, Amazon.com and at other music retailers.
This songwriters round promises to be an amazing collaboration of styles and sounds presented in an intimate setting allowing the performers to interact and truly connect with the audience at Studio Live.
