Curtis Winery, Sedona Golf Resort host Winemaker's Dinner July 29
Rhône-style wines from Santa Barbara County paired with gourmet meal

Join Curtis Winery and Sedona Golf Resort for a festive evening of food and wine on Friday, July 29, as Chef Wbaldo Molina prepares a four-course dinner paired with wines presented by Winemaker Chuck Carlson.

The cost is $44.95 per person, inclusive of food and wine. Seating begins at 6:30 p.m. Availability is limited. Parties of 10 or more will receive two bottles of wine with dinner with the price of their dinner.

Curtis Winery specializes in artisan Rhône-style wines from its estate vineyards in Santa Barbara County's Santa Ynez Valley on California's Central Coast, and was established in 1995 as one of California's first wineries dedicated exclusively to Rhône varietals.

The dinner begins with gazpacho soup paired with the 2010 Heritage Blanc, a crisp, vibrant blend of Viognier and Roussanne, followed by crab cakes with tarragon aioli sauce served with the 2009 Viognier. The main course is beef Wellington paired with the 2009 Heritage Cuvée, a robustly flavored red blend of Mourvèdre, Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. The meal concludes with a crème brulée paired with the Late Harvest Viognier, a delectable dessert-style wine.

Along the way, Carlson will introduce each wine, sharing details about the Curtis Winery estate vineyard as well as his personal winemaking style. Carlson, who has been making wines in Santa Barbara County for more than 25 consecutive vintages, will also explain why Rhône-style wines excel in the region. Carlson will also sign bottles that are purchased.

"Chef Wbaldo has created a harmonious menu that will complement and showcase the distinctive flavors of our wines," Carlson said. "Northern Arizona is a new market for us, and I'm looking forward to connecting with local wine enthusiasts."

Curtis Winery put down roots as one of California's first wineries dedicated exclusively to Rhône-style wines in 1995. Since then, nothing has changed. They still live for Rhônes. They invite you to visit the tasting room near Los Olivos.
