8/11/2009 3:42:00 PM Magical Journey promises night of fabulous food and wines
This Magical Journeys program is part of a series of events by the volunteer group, “The Sedona Village Creative Initiative." The group is committed to creating a strong alliance between residents and the business community by designing and fostering events that will enhance the community’s economic, social and cultural well-being.
A Magical Journey will be held in The Sedona Village on Thursday, Aug. 13, at Fork in the Road, American Bistro.
An elegant Eastern Mediterranean dinner will begin at 6 p.m., prepared by Award-winning Chef Alan McClean.
"I will be blending classic flavor profiles of the Region with respect for traditional dishes and use of time-honored French techniques. While many of the Eastern Mediterranean countries were strongly influenced in the last 100 years or so by the French, there are layers upon layers of rich cultural heritage from Moorish to Celtic and German to name just a few of the centuries of influence on flavors and ingredients in this exciting culinary region," said Chef Alan.
Chef Alan combines the bright seasonings of the area with fresh ingredients for delightful, creative dishes.
Complementing the several courses will be special Regional wines and the Creative Initiative invites everyone to enjoy this excellent value and interesting evening with Chef/Owners Alan and Brenda McClean.
This is the 11th in a Series of Community Events - Magical Journeys, a Big Park Creative Initiative of Residents Supporting Local Businesses.
Chef Alan and his wife Brenda McClean have a long history of supporting community events winning many awards including preparing more than 10,000 meals for Meals on Wheels.
This Magical Journey to an Eastern Mediterranean Feast will cost $50 per person including wines and tax, gratuity not included.
Reservations can be made at Fork in the Road @ 928-284-9322.
Their previous event, open to the entire extended community, was a sell-out out within days of the announcement.
This Magical Journeys program is part of a series of events by the volunteer group, "The Sedona Village Creative Initiative."
The group is committed to creating a strong alliance between residents and the business community by designing and fostering events that will enhance the community's economic, social and cultural well-being.
The intent is to include all of the restaurants, retail shops, artists, and residents as the initiative grows; and will continue to build upon these efforts and plan events for 2009 and 2010.
The broader mission of the group is to support the efforts of the Big Park Council as it: (1) creates a distinct identity for the Sedona Village area; (2) builds linkages and initiates activities that will support the local business community while enriching the quality of life for residents and visitors; (3) develops innovative ways to incorporate more cultural elements; (4) facilitates opportunities for greater social interaction among residents; and (5) finds creative ways to promote the programs and events more effectively within the community and surrounding areas.
