Women of the Moose Chapter 1854 are holding the 2nd Annual "Friends of Veterans" fundraiser from 4:30 to 10 p.m. on Armed Forces Day, May 16. This popular event takes place at the Moose Lodge, 105 S. A select group chefs from throughout the Verde Valley are perfecting their favorite chili recipes as they prepare for the toughest competition yet at the fifth annual Great Sedona Chili Cook-Off. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Sedona and is a featured event of the Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, Cinco de Mayo Fiesta. Chili tasting at this hot event will begin at 11 a.m. through a 3:30 p.m. awards ceremony; admission is $15, children under ten are free.

Oak Creek Canyon Tours by Sedona Heritage Museum - The Sedona Heritage Museum will once again present their popular historic sites tours of Oak Creek Canyon's historic places on April 9, 10, and 11. Tickets are $50 for Sedona Historical Society/Sedona Heritage Museum members and $55 for non-members. Space is limited. These tours have historically sold-out early. Tickets may be purchased over the phone or in person at the Museum, 928-282 7038. The Sedona Historical Society operates the Sedona Heritage Museum in Jordan Historical Park at 735 Jordan Rd.

Pan-African Dance Class - Rujeko Dumbutshena, a Neo-traditional African Dancer and original cast member of Fela!, will being making a special appearance in Sedona to teach a Dance Workshop. The movements you will learn in the dance class are inspired by Rujeko's dance experience in FELA! the musical, the rhythmic intricacies from her Zimbabwean dance traditions, the lineal symmetry of Guinea dance and the centering required for the dancers of the Congo. Rujeko is gifted at making her art form accessible and fun for everyone, even beginners. Bare feet and comfortable/dance attire are all you need for this all-level dance class.
