After her standing room only Marketplace Café debut and the successes of her shows following, local singer-songwriter Adalia Tara returns to play two shows, one on Friday, July 25, and the other Saturday, Aug. 2, both from 6 to 9 p.m.

"I love how intimate and welcoming the setting is at Marketplace Cafe. People are really listening and immersing themselves in the music." says Adalia Tara. "I love sharing my original music as well as some of my own renditions of covers ...I am happy to be playing there again."

Bearing her whole heart when she performs, Adalia Tara's style is distinct and versatile, from deep, bluesy lows to sweet, ethereal highs. Those who have heard her perform often remark about her amazing vocal range, and how her voice commands the space. Her evocative lyrics are at the center of her soulful sound, offering insight into her personal truths and aspirations. Adalia Tara will tell you that her writing style has been influenced by classic artists such as John Lennon, Neil Young, and Billy Holiday, to more modern artists like Radiohead and Feist.

Writing and recording her original music since the age of fourteen, Adalia Tara's lyrics are powerful and hopeful, many about waking up and taking a stand in order to create a better world. "I was raised Buddhist and the teachings on compassion just made sense to me. Through my music I hope to bring benefit to others, to inspire, to encourage positive change, and to convey messages of hope and compassion. Music is my heart and my offering. It's how I give back," reflects Tara.

She returned to Sedona in 2011, touring up the West Coast with the talented cellist Matthew Schoening who is based in San Francisco.

Currently, she has been traveling to Los Angeles to finish up her seven-track album as well as a full-length album due to be released later this year. To see a current schedule of her live shows and to hear her upcoming new music, check out her website at and her Facebook fan page at Adalia Tara Music.
