It is summer 1961. In their cabin by the lake, Henry and Annie arrive for their traditional Memorial Day gathering with their two children.

But the world is changing around them and this family is buffeted by the conflicts that come from the clash between desires and expectations.

Brought to you by season sponsors Allie Ollie and Kudos, Richard Warren's Shifting Gears runs March 7-24 at Canyon Moon Theatre. In a story as old as family and as new as each generation, Warren speaks of family, tradition and dreams with humor and understanding.

This world premier will have you laughing and remembering as Warren explores growing up and the tensions that arise even in a family tied together by love.

Shifting Gears stars Canyon Moon favorites Mike Peach (Henry), Tricia Greer (Annie) and Tony Latham (Junior). Mike is a veteran of Canyon Moon's inaugural season, and returns for his twelfth show with the company. Sedona audiences remember his appearances in and out of drag in The Mystery of Irma Vep. Other roles include Marc in Art, the Player in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, and Owen Musser in The Foreigner. This January, he played Hubert Humphrey in Texas Boot at the Sedona New Play Festival.

Tricia Greer has appeared at Canyon Moon Theatre in The Lion in Winter as Eleanor of Aquitaine, in Proof as Claire and as Amanda in The Glass Menagerie. She was in CMT's hit comedy A Marriage Minuet and most recently appeared in the Sedona New Play Festival in Open Heart.

Tony Latham graduated in December 2012 with a degree in Theatre Performance and Political Science from Northern Arizona University. NAU performances include Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, Mortimer in Arsenic and Old Lace, Alan Strang in Equus and Matt in The Fantasticks. CMT audiences enjoyed Tony in Making God Laugh and as Everyman in last month's production of Gun-Shy.

Katarina Crawley comes to CMT with a wealth of background in student films, commercials and theatre. She is in The Rocks TV show which is being filmed in Sedona and works at West Sedona school.

Shifting Gears plays Thursdays through Sundays, March 7-24. There is no performance March 15.

Tickets are $20. Full-time student tickets are $11.

To purchase tickets or for information on Season subscriptions, call CMT at 928-282-6212.

Tickets are also available at Rycus' Corners and Marketplace Café in the VOC and at Basha's in West Sedona. Thursday through Saturday, shows are at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday performances are at 3 p.m.

Canyon Moon Theatre is located in the Oak Creek Factory Outlets, three doors down from the GAP on Highway 179 in the Village of Oak Creek.
