The fourth annual Sedona Sunrise Superstar vocal talent competition played to a full house again on Jan. 16 at the Sedona Creative Life Center as 17 contestants were selected to go on to the next round of competition on Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m.

Incredible performances were given to raise funds for the Sedona Sunrise Center for Adults, the only adult day health care center in Sedona and the Verde Valley. Sponsored by True Financial Wealth Management Firm, the event is hosted by Shondra Jepperson. Judges are music teacher and singer Jeanie Carroll, entertainer Sammy Davis, singer and producer Dev Ross, and recording producer Kenny Star, who are all stepping up the constructive criticism given to the contestants as the competition gets tighter. Each singer is backed up with sound by Clear Aire Audio, Janis and Greg Crossman, from Flagstaff.

Jr. Rising Star contestants going to the next round are Jamie Alagna, Mia Sadler, Bella Rosa, Kennedy Shosted, and Riley Whittaker. Rising Star contestants who remain are Morgan Bailey, Sophia Beck, Danielle Glick, Julia Koss, Chris Parker, and Jordan Tortorello. Sedona Superstar contestants singing Wednesday are Karla Bonner, Cindy Holcomb, Heather Kay, Jenni Livingston, Steve Ray, and Diane Steiniger.

You will not want to miss the last two shows on Jan. 23 and 30 at 6 p.m. at the Sedona Creative Life Center. Besides the very talented competitors, there will be performances by former Superstar and Rising Star contestants and winners. There will be a Silent Auction with items donated by community residents. Tickets are $10 each, $5 for under 12. Buy them early at Basha's, Webers IGA, and the Sedona Sunrise Center to ensure you get a seat. Tickets are also available at the door. All proceeds go to help the Sedona Sunrise Center for Adults. Call (928) 282-8969 or (928) 301-4691 for information.
