Jazz Cabaret: Vismaya and trio perform at Marketplace

International jazz and cabaret at the Marketplace Café Saturday, Sept. 1, features Ingrid Hagelberg (Vismaya) and her jazz trio.

The concert at the Marketplace Café will feature many songs from Ingrid's latest CD, "Songs from My Red Suitcase." The audience will be transported to a European Bistro where they will hear jazz and cabaret songs in French, German, Portuguese and even Swedish. The performance features a jazz trio with music including Gypsy jazz, European cabaret songs , Brazilian rhythms, and even a Swedish tango. (www.vismayajazz.com).

Ingrid Hagelberg (Vismaya), born in Sweden, has lived mostly in Sedona for the past several years . She recently returned from a tour in Europe where she performed in France, Germany, and Sweden. She was highlighted at Chez Papa Jazz Club in Paris. Ingrid has toured the World performing in Germany, Japan, South Africa, Poland and Sweden.

Vincent Z, guitarist/singer originally from France but now living in Arizona, sings in many languages and can play almost any style of music.

Allen Ames one of the featured musicians on Ingrid's latest CD "Songs from my red Suitcase," plays bass, guitar, violin and mandolin and has performed with almost every musical group using the word Arizona. Ames currently performs with Lyra, the William Eaton Ensemble, Meadowlark, and Mosaico flamenco.

Gary Regina, saxophones and flute, has been a professional musician for over 30 years. As comfortable with straight-ahead jazz as he is with world beat, hip-hop, blues, swing, rock or funk, Gary's abilities transcend many styles and genres, illustrating an incredible diversity of musical influences.

The show is 6:30-9:30 p.m. There is no cover.
