Harmony Explosion! Spirit of Phoenix barbershop chorus

Coming to the Sedona Performing Arts Center, 995 Upper Red Rock Loop Road, Sedona, Aug. 11 at 3 p.m., a musical event of a magnitude and style never before seen or heard in the Verde Valley and the Sedona area, states Bob Butterworth, Vice President, Marketing/PR for Harmony On the Rocks, the Sedona chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society(BHS).

Aptly titled "Harmony Explosion" the concert headlines the award winning barbershop chorus, Spirit of Phoenix, and features the Harmony On The Rocks chorus. The Spirit of Phoenix was chartered in 1943 and draws on the singing skills of men from the greater Phoenix area and other Arizona communities. The chorus has captured the BHS highest honor, International Chorus Champion, three times, and has earned a total of 14 medals in the competition, making it one of the most decorated choruses in BHS history. The chorus is also home to numerous competitive barbershop quartets that perform traditional four-part barbershop harmony in local shows and compete on the division, district and international stages. We are fortunate to be producing this exceptional concert under the auspice of the Sedona International Film Festival who will be handling ticket sales. The show will run approximately two hours, is one of a kind, and one you really do not want to miss, so remember "Harmony Explosion." when purchasing your tickets Butterworth stated. Tickets are $20 and are available on line at and by calling (928) 282-1177.
