Denver-based Oak Creek Band will make a special road trip to Sedona to pay it forward with a benefit concert that will raise money for cancer research and awareness.

The band will perform the Second Annual "Love-4-Amanda: Rock-n-Roll for the Cure" concert on Thursday, April 12, at Olde Sedona Bar & Grill, located at 1405 W. Highway 89A, Sedona.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for dinner. There is no cover charge for the benefit concert, but donations will be accepted at the door and throughout the evening. Olde Sedona Bar & Grill owner, Mike Smith, will offer delicious dinner specials that evening, with 50-percent of the dining proceeds going to the benefit.

The Oak Creek Band will return to their hometown to headline the benefit in honor of Sedona Red Rock High School alumni and personal friend, Amanda Coughlin, who lost her battle with a rare and incurable cancer called Cholangio Carcinoma on March 16. Oak Creek Band traveled to Sedona last year after hearing about Amanda's diagnosis on March 29, 2011, and performed the first "Love-4-Amanda" benefit concert on April 17, 2011.  That benefit concert raised over $12,000.

The band came up with the idea of "Rock-n-Roll for the Cure" after being inspired by Amanda's courageous battle.

The concert will pay tribute to Sedona friends currently fighting cancer and will honor those who have passed away from the disease.

Oak Creek Band and the Coughlin family would like to continue the "Love-4-Amanda Benefit" for years to come, raising money for cancer research & awareness and for Sedona families who are struggling with cancer.

"We are blessed to have this opportunity with "Rock-n-Roll for the Cure" to honor our friend, Amanda, and so many others in need of a helping hand right now," said Oak Creek Band vocalist and guitarist Daniel Watters.

"Our music is currently taking us on tour around the country, but wherever we go, our hearts are in Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. Coming home to perform at this benefit concert is our way of paying it forward."

"Rock-n-Roll for the Cure" will also feature other local performers including a lovely acoustic set performed by Lila Rose Edwards and Caleb Groh at 6:30 p.m., followed by a hilarious comedy set by ZENprov Comedy with Bonnie Green and Derek Dujardin.

The Oak Creek Band takes the stage at 8:30 p.m. playing many favorites as well as songs from their new album, due to be released May 4..
