Famous German guitar duo Ralf Illenberger and Peter Autschbach will present their outstanding talent at Relics in Sedona, Sunday, April 1, 7 p.m.

Illenberger and Autschbach previously toured together in Germany and this will be their only concert in the United States.

Autschbach will be visiting Illenberger in Sedona to record an new CD in his studio for their upcoming tour in Germany this fall.

Ralf Illenberger got popular in Germany in the 1980s with his duo work with fellow guitar player Martin Kolbe and they were known as "Germany's Best Guitar Duo." They created timeless compositions and were nominated for the German Record Awards.

In his new duo with guitarist Peter Autschbach, he revives this music again and they became a very successful act in Germany.

Autschbach is an accomplished guitarist in Germany. He played guitar for the rock operas "The Who" and "Queen." He also writes for Acoustic Guitar Magazine and is a great teacher.

Illenberger earned a Grammy Nomination in 1997 (Passion for Guitar) and is touring and producing all over the world. He has performed in 50 countries and released 16 CDs so far. For his Sedona audience, this concert is different; it will highlight compositions for two guitars, very interwoven music, borrowing from all genres between classical and popular music.

After their last show in December in Germany, a fan left a note on Illenbergers web page:

"Ralf und Peter, I saw live shows with Paco d.L, Al di Meola, Lawrence Juber, J.Ackermann, Dominic Miller, Eric Clapton, Kolbe&Illenberger, Leo Kottke, Ed Gerhardt, Grossman, and the European Acoustic Greats ... yesterday evening Peter Finger, Claus B-F. etc.... But you were the Best! I hope you'll continue to do great shows together..."

Opening at 7 p.m. is "Meadowlark." Meadowlark is enchanting original music inspired by nature featuring flutist Lynn Trombetta and guitarist Rick Cyge. Special guest is songwriter Adam Smith from Nashville. Expect an outstanding musical experience.

Sliding scale entry, $10-$20. Relics Restaurant is located at 3235 West Highway 89A, West Sedona, phone 928-282-1593.
