Artists Against Drunk Driving (AADD) is raising money and awareness this month at White Hills Gallery, located in downtown Camp Verde, in order to give a voice to the victims of drunk driving.

AADD is a non-profit organization, formed by Nikki and Jack Wilden, that strives to bring a voice to every victim of drunk driving, and to educate generations to come about the dangers of drinking and driving, by painting portraits of victims and creating programs in schools like the "Every 15 minutes" program.

In the next coming weeks, Nikki and her husband Jack plan to use their artistic talents to raise money for AADD in order to support their cause. Nikki Smith Wilden is an accomplished portrait artist that has previously exhibited internationally and was recently inducted into the National portrait society. Currently, she is the featured artist at White Hills Gallery with selected works from her realism and fantasy series for the gallery's theme "Every Body Talks."

Her husband Jack Wilden is an accomplished local country singer-song writer who has previously played in various venues in the Verde Valley. Both Jack and Nikki will be bringing their artistic talents to White Hills Gallery on Friday, June 15, 5-8 p.m. for a fund-raising event for Artists Against Drunk Driving.

In order to raise money for AADD, Nikki has placed one of her oil paintings, "Desert Star" up for silent auction. Bidding for the painting started on May 25th and will continue until June 15. Nikki has also placed a blank canvas up for raffle. For $20 per raffle ticket, Nikki plans to paint a portrait for the winner drawn; the portrait can be of any person or animal. Winner will be drawn during the fund-raising event on June 15.

For the fund-raising event on Friday June 15, Nikki plans to host a dessert gallery at White Hills Gallery, where her artistic talents will be seen in a new way, with homemade chocolates and fudges. And Jack Wilden plans to perform live along with local musician, James Martin. To enjoy the chocolates, tickets will be $5, with all proceeds going to AADD.

White Hills Gallery is located at 348 S. Main St. in downtown Camp Verde. Those interested in supporting AADD can purchase raffle tickets for the custom portrait or bid on the silent auction for "Desert Star" during White Hills Gallery's business hours: Sunday-Thursday 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-8 p.m., or by appointment Tuesday and Wednesday.

For more information can be found on the web at www.ArtistsAgainstDrunkDriving.com or www.WhiteHillsGallery.com, or contact the gallery at (928) 274-7903.
